 Objective

Eliminate barriers for all Canadians to accessing and benefitting from blue spaces; respond to community-based priorities and vulnerabilities related to a changing ocean

Key Performance Indicators

Tracking trends and changes in:

  • the state of diversity in Canada’s ocean-related sectors from the co-established research baseline (see above) and identified ocean sector opportunities addressing inequities (e.g., training, internships, etc.) for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, women, youth, people with disabilities, 2SLGTBQIA+ people, and other priority populations through co-determined instruments
  • community-based action research projects and collaborations supported by the Microgrant Program (see Action Stream #2) that are focused on addressing barriers to access and diversity;   
  • # of equity, access, diversity, and inclusion focused ocean-related publications in Canada
